World of stone are one of the oldest established stone masons in the south east of England specializing in luxury stone work surfaces.
Quartz
Quartz is a man made product that contains a resin compound mixed with the stone, this gives the stone a non porous quality and makes it more resilient against stains. This is a popular product in Kitchen counter tops and recommended in wet areas such as bathrooms. Quartz is unsuitable for fireplace hearths.
Granite
Granite is a natural product, although its a porous stone and needs to be properly sealed its resistant to heat making it a classic choice in kitchens and a suitable stone around fireplaces.
